Preschool Teacher (4 year old class)
The Neshoba Early Learning Center, located in the heart of East Memphis corridor, is a center committed to education excellence and cultivating students’ early childhood years. Join our team of caring adults who help our students S.H.I.N.E. each and everyday! We provide a curriculum that educates and nurtures the whole child through songs, play, exploratory learning, preparing all child(ren) for kindergarten and beyond.
We are currently seeking a well-qualified Preschool Teacher (Full-time) for our 4 year old class.
Your Role:
-
Actively participate in daily classroom operations by adapting and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, materials and equipment to facilitate participation of all children
-
Assists in planning and implementing age appropriate curriculum and activities to nurture and stimulate all domains of children’s development in their care.
-
Provides a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children’s learning and growth.

Performs on-going developmental evaluations of children as required by DHS and develop lesson plans and follow curriculum implementation that addresses the individual needs of each child.

Maintains ongoing, open communication with parents/ caregivers.

Implements and supports nutrition routines.

Provides attentive supervision of children: knows classroom enrollment, constantly scans classroom/playground to ensure safety, and closely monitors children by constantly taking attendance.
Preschool Teacher Required Skills & Education:
-
High school diploma or GED required
-
Previous experience as a Preschool Teacher or Caregiver in a child care center
-
Academic coursework in Early Childhood Education (Required)
-
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
-
Must obtain and continually maintain basic first aid and pediatric CPR certification
-
Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
Preferred:

Bi-lingual strongly preferred
-
Childhood Development Associate (CDA) or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred

Before/Aftercare Associate (Part-Time)

We provide a curriculum that educates and nurtures the whole child through songs, play, exploratory learning, preparing all child(ren) for kindergarten and beyond.
We are currently seeking a well-qualified Before/Aftercare Associate (Part-Time 6 a.m.-10 a.m./3-6 p.m.)
Your Role:
-
Monitors children in a variety of settings (during individual and group activities, playground activities, snack, and doing homework) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive environment in the before/after care setting.

Interact with, and engage the children in a positive manner.
-
Organize indoor/outdoor, quiet/active play activities appropriate to the age group.

Greet and communicate with parents as they arrive to pick up their children for the purpose of conveying information appropriate to their child.

Clean and maintain the classroom/playground environment.

Implement positive methods of conflict resolution and guidance for children as needed.

Maintain the security of the school. Monitor those entering/leaving the building. Lock the building when before/aftercare program closes for the day.
Required Skills & Education:
